A professional laundry project in Luanda, where Upgreat supported the client from space definition and equipment selection to operational launch, consumables, and visual identity.
Upgreat was contacted by the laundry owner, who intended to open a professional laundry business in Luanda, at Centro Comercial das Conchas, in Talatona.
This was the client's first project in this field, which meant there were many technical and operational decisions to make: type of equipment, space layout, workflow processes, reception and delivery areas, linen treatment, ironing, dry cleaning, and consumables needed for start-up.
From the beginning, the project had a strong consultative component. Upgreat helped the client understand several practical aspects of operating a laundry that normally only become clear after the business is up and running.
The main challenge was to create a functional, complete, and balanced laundry, respecting the budget set by the client.
It was necessary to fit equipment with very different levels of investment into the same project, including a dry cleaning machine, washing and drying equipment, a water heating system, ironing tables, a flatwork ironer, a stain removal unit, stainless-steel tanks, shelving, and a garment organization system.
In addition, the client needed support to visualize the reception area and create a brand image for the space.
Upgreat structured the space, defined the functional layout of the laundry, and adjusted the technical solution to the available budget.
Equipment was supplied for washing, drying, dry cleaning, ironing, garment finishing, stain treatment, organization, and storage. The solution also included stainless-steel tanks to support the manual pre-treatment of heavily soiled items before washing.
Visual support was also developed for the reception area, including 3D drawings prepared by an architect who collaborated with Upgreat, helping the client better visualize the final environment of the space. Upgreat also developed the laundry logo, which has continued to be used as the business's brand image.
To equip the laundry with highly reliable solutions, we integrated equipment from leading brands in the sector, such as washing machines and dryers from Imesa, a dry cleaning machine from Union, ironing tables and a stain treatment machine from Rotondi, a flatwork ironer from Grandimpianti, and a garment bagging machine from Kosmos MBM.
Upgreat acted as a technical and consultative partner for the client, supporting an entrepreneur entering the professional laundry sector for the first time.
The work went beyond supplying machinery. It included space planning, explaining operational needs, equipment selection, reception layout support, workflow organization, visual identity development, and the initial supply of consumables.
After installation, the client continued to rely on Upgreat for the supply of consumables, especially during the initial operation phase.
Chemicals, detergents, softeners, dry cleaning products, stain removers, hangers, shirt bags, and other materials necessary for the laundry's daily operation were supplied for a period of time. This phase allowed the client to launch with greater security, without having to immediately look for multiple local suppliers for each product category.
The project resulted in a complete professional laundry, built from scratch to meet the client's needs and available budget.
The relationship of trust has endured over time. Later, the client turned to Upgreat again to develop a custom stainless-steel kitchen for a private residence, with professional equipment and tailored solutions.
